Phillip N. Coover is a principal of Schenk Annes Tepper Campbell Ltd. and has been with the firm since 2005. Phillip represents local and national commercial real estate investment companies, real estate development and brokerage companies, retail commercial property management companies, business owners, restaurants, and private equity lending companies. Phillip’s practice focusses on commercial litigation, receiverships and other distressed assets, foreclosures, commercial bankruptcy creditor representation, corporate transactional matters, real estate acquisitions and sales, business disputes and breach of fiduciary duties, debt collection, and other various matters. Phillip is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the General Bar of the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Illinois), and the Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. He also holds an Illinois Managing Broker real estate license. Phillip is a multiple time recipient of Super Lawyers Rising Star award in the area of Business Litigation—a designation only given to 2.5% of all attorneys in the State of Illinois, who are under the age of 40. Phillip has written and lectured extensively on various legal topics to the Chicago Bar Association, continuing legal education companies, and at private businesses. He has done presentations on Landlord’s Rights in Retail Bankruptcies, creditors’ rights issues, and receivership obligations and duties. Phillip has authored articles on the topics of litigation holds, the Keep Chicago Renting Ordinance, receiver liabilities and rights, employer-employee issues, and various other topics. Phillip received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science from the University of Illinois in 2004. He received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2007. Phillip is an avid squash player and involved in club governance with the University Club of Chicago.
